NovaGenix has worked with athletes and active adults for years, including individuals dealing with sports-related joint, tendon, ligament, and soft-tissue concerns. Earlier in the clinic’s history, that work included platelet-rich plasma (PRP).

NovaGenix does not currently offer PRP injections. This article is retained because many patients still search for PRP and sports-injury information, and because the clinic’s historical experience with regenerative procedures helps inform its current physician-led regenerative medicine approach.

What Is PRP?

PRP is prepared from a patient’s own blood. The blood is processed to concentrate platelets in plasma. Those platelets contain signaling proteins and growth factors involved in normal tissue-repair processes.

PRP has been studied in sports medicine and orthopedics for conditions involving tendons, ligaments, joints, and other musculoskeletal tissues. Evidence varies by diagnosis, preparation method, injection technique, and patient factors.

NovaGenix's Historical Experience With Athletes

NovaGenix previously treated amateur and professional athletes with PRP, including combat-sport athletes who often faced compressed recovery timelines and repetitive training stress. That historical experience helped build the clinic’s familiarity with musculoskeletal complaints, return-to-training concerns, and the need to set realistic expectations around recovery.

Individual athlete experiences are not proof that a treatment will work for another person. Results vary, and regenerative procedures should never be presented as guaranteed to accelerate healing or eliminate the need for standard orthopedic care.

How the Current Regenerative Medicine Approach Differs

NovaGenix's current services focus on stem cell therapy and regenerative medicine. PRP is not currently offered. These therapies are different from PRP in their source, composition, preparation, evidence base, and regulatory considerations.

A physician-led consultation is used to review the patient’s diagnosis, medical history, prior treatments, activity goals, imaging when appropriate, and whether a regenerative approach warrants further consideration.

Common Reasons Athletes Ask About Regenerative Medicine

Athletes and active adults commonly research regenerative options for knee, shoulder, elbow, hip, ankle, tendon, ligament, and other musculoskeletal concerns. Some are trying to return to training after injury, while others are managing chronic overuse symptoms or degenerative joint problems.

Not every pain complaint is appropriate for a regenerative procedure. Some conditions require imaging, physical therapy, orthopedic evaluation, surgery, neurologic care, or other treatment first.

Does NovaGenix Still Offer PRP for Sports Injuries?

No. NovaGenix previously offered PRP but does not currently provide PRP injections. Patients who are comparing PRP with regenerative cellular therapies can still contact the clinic for an educational discussion about how the approaches differ.
