Instructions Before Your NovaGenix PRP Treatment

PRP INSTRUCTIONS

Here are some minor preparations before your Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)treatment at NovaGenix.

These instructions are to be followed the days leading up to your procedure.

BEFORE YOUR PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) TREATMENT

If you are on prescription blood thinners, please doctor Sigman and the NovaGenx staff know immediately, as they could cause bleeding and increase the time your treatment. Possible medications include Plavix, Coumadin and Heparin


For pain you may use Tylenol (acetaminophen) as needed prior to the treatment but do not use other anti-inflammatory medications like ibuprofen which is found in Advil, Aleve and other popular over the counter pain medication.


If you are on broad beta-blockers like Inderal (Propranolol) for example, please let doctor Sigman know.


Please stop, or minimize, smoking for at least one week before and 3 days after your treatment. Smoking could impact healing, blood flow and oxygen delivery, therefore, your results may be improved the longer you are able to stop smoking before and after the treatment.


Prescription medications (heart and blood pressure medication) should be taken as prescribed up to, and including, the day of and the day after your treatments.


Minimize alcoholic consumption the days before your PRP treatment.

THE MORNING OF YOUR TREATMENT


Shower the morning of your treatment and wash your hair very thoroughly using your regular shampoo. Do not apply sprays, gels, or any other styling products to your hair.


Eat regularly the morning of your treatment please drink at least 16 oz of water at least 2 hours before your treatment.
